Compared with high-carbon steel wire, what are the advantages of tungsten wire as diamond wire busbar?

(1) Smaller diameter, which can effectively reduce the loss rate of silicon wafers. It is reported that the diamond wire busbar industry has begun to develop 35um wire types, which is seriously close to the limit of steel wire, so tungsten wire as busbar has become an inevitable trend. 35um steel wire has problems such as small breaking force and insufficient cutting ability, and it is very easy to break.

(2) The lower break rate is mainly attributed to the advantages of tungsten-based steel wire such as higher tensile strength, better toughness, stronger cutting ability and fatigue resistance.

(3) Better corrosion and oxidation resistance. When the coating is damaged, tungsten wire will not react with oxygen in the air to produce corresponding oxides like steel wire, thereby reducing cutting performance.

(4) Higher cutting efficiency. Within a certain period of time, tungsten-based diamond wire with the same diameter can be cut more times than diamond wire made of steel wire, and the yield rate is higher, that is, the cut product has no obvious scratches.

(5) Longer service life. For example, in the production of single crystal silicon, the service life of wire rope made of tungsten wire is about 10 times higher than that of wire rope made of steel wire.

(6) More suitable for cutting large-sized silicon wafers, mainly due to the thinner wire of tungsten-based diamond wire, higher breaking force, and no silicon wafer breakage.

(7) More cost-saving, mainly reflected in the lower loss rate of the cut workpiece and the increase in the number of uses.
