Positioned between the volume grade and the premium grade, metallic silicon 2202 delivers a minimum silicon content of 99.58%, with iron and aluminium capped at 0.2% and calcium at 0.02%. For organic silicone production it is the balanced choice: clean enough for direct-process chemistry and general chemical processing, yet priced below the top grades that only catalyst-critical lines truly require. Industrial materials made from or with silicon — resins, intermediates, and specialty compounds — draw on the same grade. The grade is smelted from quartz and carbon reductant in a submerged-arc furnace, refined, cast into lumps, and sized for shipment. Standard packing is the 1 MT big bag, with a 20' container holding 20–25 MT. The release lab analyzes each lot for the four governing elements before the material moves, and ISO 9001 audits the route from furnace tap to container seal.
