Description:

 

Thermal expansion coefficient
The thermal expansion coefficient of silicon carbide is much smaller than that of other abrasives and high-temperature materials. When the temperature range is between 25 and 1400℃, the average thermal expansion coefficient of silicon carbide can be roughly calculated as 4.4×10-5/℃.

 

Thermal conductivity
The thermal conductivity of silicon carbide is very high. Usually, in engineering calculations, the thermal conductivity of silicon carbide can be taken as 0.015~0.023 cal/cm·℃·second. Due to its lower thermal expansion coefficient and higher thermal conductivity, the thermal stress during heating or cooling is smaller when it is used as a raw material for making parts.
