Applications of Ferrosilicon Products:

Used as a deoxidizer and alloying agent in the steelmaking industry. To obtain steel with qualified chemical composition and ensure steel quality, deoxidation is performed in the final stage of steelmaking. Due to the strong chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen, ferrosilicon is a strong deoxidizer for steelmaking used for precipitation and diffusion deoxidation. Adding a small amount of silicon to steel can significantly improve its strength, hardness, and elasticity. Therefore, ferrosilicon is also used as an alloying agent in the smelting of structural steel (0.40-1.75% silicon), tool steel (0.30-1.8% SiO), spring steel (0.40-2.8% SiO), and transformer silicon steel (2.81-4.8% silicon).

At the same time, it improves the morphology of inclusions and reduces the content of gaseous elements in molten steel, which is a new technology to improve steel quality, reduce costs, and save iron consumption. It is particularly suitable for the deoxidation requirements of continuous casting steel. Practice has proved that ferrosilicon not only meets the deoxidation requirements of steelmaking, but also has desulfurization properties, high specific gravity, and strong penetration power.

In addition, in the steelmaking industry, ferrosilicon powder is often used as a steel ingot cap exothermic agent to improve the quality and recovery rate of steel ingots by utilizing its ability to release a large amount of heat when burned at high temperatures.
