Advantages and Performance
Ferrosilicon is an essential deoxidizer in steelmaking industry. In steel making, ferrosilicon is used for precipitation deoxidation and diffusion deoxidation.
High silicon ferrosilicon or silico-ferrous alloys are used as reducing agents for producing low-carbon ferroalloys in the ferroalloy industry. Adding ferrosilicon to cast iron can be used as inoculant for ductile iron, which can prevent carbide formation, promote graphite precipitation and spheroidization, and improve the performance of cast iron.
Adding a certain amount of silicon to steel can significantly improve the strength, hardness and elasticity of steel, increase the magnetic permeability of steel, and reduce the hysteresis loss of transformer steel.
Ferrosilicon powder can be used as a suspension phase in the beneficiation industry and as a coating for welding electrodes in the welding rod manufacturing industry.
