Analysis of the microstructure of the TZM alloy welded joint found that the grains in the welding area were coarse and contained a small number of black spots, but the weld structure was dense and there were certain cracks.

In addition, the coarse-grained zone and transition zone are affected by thermal effects, which essentially eliminates the plate-like grain structure of the alloy, and recrystallizes into coarse equiaxed grains, while the original base material still maintains the lamellar crystal and braided structure. The elimination of the plate-like grain structure weakens the strength of TZM alloys.
