Silicon Slag (Off grade silcion) is a by-product of silicon metal production. It's the separated part which are less purity of silicon metal. Usually silicon slag contains higher contents of Fe, Al, Ca and other oxide. Silicon, with other elements like Fe, Al, Ca, have strong reaction with oxygen; Meanwhile other impurities are oxide also are not harmful to liquid steel. FerroSillicon Slag Application
1. It is a good substitute for ferro silicon in steel making which has advantage in reducing the making cost.
2. The silicon slag powder can be made silicon briquette which has far and wide market at home and abroad.
3. It is used as deoxidizer in steel making.
4. Silicon content from 30~50% is used for silicon addition for iron making in the blast furnace and cupola, 50~70% is used for the deoxidization of steel making.
5. We use silicon slag to produce silicon briquette which is far and wide market in domestic and international.
