80 % ferrovanadium (FeV80) is an iron–vanadium alloy containing approximately 78–82 % vanadium by weight, with the balance mainly iron and small amounts of deoxidizers (Al, Si). It is the highest commercial vanadium grade, offering maximum vanadium content per unit mass.
| Industry | Application | Benefit of FeV80 |
|---|---|---|
| Tool & high‑speed steel | Drill bits, cutting tools, dies | Maximize hardness & hot hardness |
| Aerospace | Turbine blades, landing gear | High‑temp strength, creep resistance |
| Nuclear/chemical | Corrosion‑resistant vessels | Clean alloy, high strength |
| Superalloys | Jet engine parts | Fine grain, high‑temp stability |
| VRFB (via reprocessing) | Energy storage | Source of high‑purity V |
