Seamless metal calcium cored wire is suitable for steelmaking. It can purify molten steel, change the form of impurities, improve the castability and mechanical properties of molten steel, and can significantly increase the absorption rate of calcium and reduce steelmaking costs. Its economic effect is significant.

 

1. In appearance, the conventional metal calcium wire is mechanically pressed with buckles. The metallic calcium wire currently used is seamless and has the appearance of a seamless steel pipe.

 

2. In terms of internal structure, the outer skin of conventional calcium wire is wrapped with ordinary carbon steel. The content of metallic calcium wire is about 80%, and there are gaps inside after wrapping. The seamless calcium wire covering is made of paper carbon steel 08Al, with a carbon content of ≤0.05% and a metal calcium wire content of 98% (no gaps).

The melting point is 850°C, the boiling point is 1480°C, the density is 1.55g/cm3, the melting point in molten steel is close to zero, and it has a great affinity for oxygen. Liquid calcium can dissolve Al2O3 inclusions.

 

Al2O3 forms larger liquid inclusions after treatment with molten steel and calcium, which easily floats. It reduces the nozzle clogging caused by excessive Al2O3 content in the molten steel and improves the pouring capacity of the molten steel. After calcium treatment, the Al2O3 inclusions retain their spherical shape and their properties are improved after rolling.
