Main uses of vanadium pentoxide
Metallurgical industry:
Vanadium pentoxide is widely used in smelting ferrovanadium. As a metallurgical additive, it accounts for more than 80% of the total consumption of vanadium pentoxide.
Chemical industry:
Vanadium pentoxide can be used as a catalyst in organic chemical industry, such as contact sulfuric acid production and catalyst in organic oxidation reactions.
It can also be used as a colorant for ceramics, glass and paint.
In summary, vanadium pentoxide has a wide range of application value in metallurgy and chemical industry due to its unique physical and chemical properties. At the same time, it also needs to be used safely because it is a toxic substance with a maximum allowable amount in the air of less than 0.5mg/m3.
