The main composition of ferrotitanium is titanium and iron ferroalloy.
It also contains impurities such as aluminum, silicon, carbon, sulfur, phosphorus and manganese.
There are mainly three varieties according to titanium content: FeTi30 (containing Ti25.0%~35.0%, Al < 8.5%, Si < 5.0%), FeTi40 (containing Ti35.0%~45.0%, Al < 9.5%, Si < 4.0%) and FeTi70 (containing Ti65%~75%, A 10.5%, Si < 0.5%).


The role in steelmaking:
1. Used as deoxidizer and degassing agent.
The deoxidization ability of titanium is much higher than that of silicon and manganese, which can reduce the segregation of ingots, improve the quality of ingots and increase the yield of finished products.
2, used as alloying agent.
It is the main raw material of special steel grade, which can increase the strength, corrosion resistance and stability of steel.
Widely used in stainless steel, tool steel and so on.
And can improve the properties of cast iron.
It is used to improve the wear resistance, stability and processability of cast iron in foundry industry.
Ferro-titanium is also the raw material of titanium-calcium electrode coating.
